The Costa Teguise Lanzarote Judo Club (CJCT) has achieved a total of victories this Saturday at the facilities of the Villaviciosa de Odón Pavilion (Madrid) in the 2024 National Club League matchday, which allows it to remain, for another year, in the national judo elite.

The Lanzarote team began its Saturday participation by winning against Fontenebro (3-2) to then achieve victory against AKARI (3-2) and against Valdemoro, with the same score. Three heart-stopping victories in the matches this Saturday allow the Teguiseño club to achieve mathematical permanence in the first division of national judo in the absence of playing another day with three matches on June 22.

On this second day the CJCT squad, led by the 5th Dan teacher, Alejandro Ramírez, and the 4th Dan delegate and Coach, Julián Lozano, was made up of Xerach Hernández and Pedro Gómez in 66 kgs., Diego Fernández and Álvaro Cano at 73 kg, Alexis Rosa and Loic Gerosa at 81 kg. , Brais Pereira at 90 kgs. And finally, Martín Salvado and Kamil Grabowski in more than 90 kgs. The team could count on the presence of 73 kgs. by Alberto Gaitero who, fresh from the World Cup in Dubai, did not compete but was with the team.

Throughout the competition, a minor injury to Brais in the second match forced the lineups to be recomposed for the rest of the tournament, but the team was able to resolve the problems on the tatami. For the team manager, Antonio Ramírez, “we are proud of these kids. Although the goal this season was the podium, achieving one more year, now nineteen, for Judo Costa Teguise Lanzarote to remain in the national Judo elite is impressive. Congratulations to the boys and next year for more,” concludes Antonio Ramírez.
