Voghera Martial Artists Achieve National and International Success

Important successes, at a national and international level, for two athletes from Voghera in martial arts. They are Simona Macchia and Luigi Guida, life partners and great protagonists in the Master categories for the fight in Bagheria and Biella. To pay homage to the outstanding performances of the athletes, the municipal administration, represented by the sports councilor Giuseppe Giovanetti and the municipal councilors Laura Anselmi and Michele Calabro’, received Simona and Luigi, together with the Maestro, in the council chamber of the Municipality of Voghera Lorenzo Tramaglino, technical director and provincial president of the Italian Taekwondo Federation. The athletes, accompanied by their children, and the Maestro were awarded a medal and a celebratory certificate.

Specifically, Simona Macchia obtained a bronze medal in the Italian championship in Bagheria in April and a silver medal in November in the International Royal Cup in Biella. Great performances also for Luigi Guida, bronze medal in Bagheria and gold medal in Biella. The two athletes are employed by the Asd Centro Arti Marziali Pavia, which also has an office in Voghera (with 40 members) in via Kennedy 104 and are followed by Maestro Lorenzo Tramaglino, who has been practicing the discipline for over thirty years and teaches for more than twenty years.

It was pleasant to receive these people, full of values ​​and united by a great passion for sport, who showed a clear determination in pursuing the final result. A year full of satisfactions for the Voghera athletes in the various disciplines has ended, an aspect that represents a source of pride for our city”.

The medals brought home represent the right reward for two athletes who make commitment, determination and sacrifice their strong point, and in the end the work always pays off. Martial arts are a discipline that must always be practiced with humility and with the desire to learn, without ever settling down by looking at the ranks on your belt: for me they represent a real lifestyle.
