Vlasto Čepo reveals what substitutes OKTAGON offered him for Kincl

Similar to last year, this year we are losing the main match of the last OKTAGON tournament of the year. Last year, the Kincl vs. Vémola 2 rematch had to be cut, and this year it’s the Kincl vs. Čepo title duel. Patrik was badly injured and even though he considered entering the fight with an injury, in the end, after consulting with the doctors, the team and his family, he decided to withdraw. Of course, a search began for a replacement for Čep, which was eventually found. But what names were in play?

Vlasto Čepo reacts to the cancellation of the match and has a message for champion Kincl

“As for compensation, of course all people write Money. Of course, they asked me if I would take Peñaz or Engizek, to which I responded that I would take both. It’s not up to me though. I understand that he has Peñaz after the fight, so he gained the pounds back and he has another fight in January.

Of course, the January match is not such a problem, because it could be solved, but he is said to be too heavy and he does not feel up to dropping to 83.9, which I understand. So it’s not up to me that there won’t be a match with Peñaz. I took him and Kerim.

The promoters themselves didn’t know much, so they shot out two names, I won’t mention because I probably can’t. I nodded at both of them. They were dangerous opponents. So I got a total of 4 opponents and I nodded at all of them. However, it did not work out on the other side. Engizek has a fight in February and it’s tough. He wouldn’t drop the money either and the other two? One said he wanted a lot of money and I don’t even know the other. I don’t deal with it though, otherwise I’d be screwed. In the end, an offer came for Polák, who is a brutally difficult opponent,” explained to Čepo the whole process of finding a replacement.

Finding any kind of replacement 2 weeks before a match is difficult. Finding a replacement two weeks before the title match with Čep is even more difficult. Finding a replacement two weeks before the title fight with Čep during the Christmas period is the most difficult, because most fighters throw the diet aside and enjoy the end of the year. So let’s be happy that the match was preserved and that at least we won’t lose Vlast in the O2 Arena.
