In addition to numerous activities off the court, Venus Williams is also planning her return to the tour.

On the women’s tour, Venus Williams is only active part-time due to several injuries. Nevertheless, as a busy businesswoman, the seven-time Grand Slam winner knows how to use her time. In a “Life Updates” video published on YouTube, the 43-year-old gives an overview of her activities since her comeback at this year’s lawn season.

Williams was satisfied with her performances at the tournaments on grass in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Birmingham before she slipped in the third game of the first round match at Wimbledon against Elena Svitolina and had to admit defeat with a bandaged right knee. After lengthy treatment of the injury, she dared to make a comeback to the North American swing with a view to the US Open, but was unable to meet her own expectations at the tournaments in Montreal, Cincinnati and New York. Due to ongoing knee problems, she ended the season early and described the difficulties in dealing with the injury in the video.

The former world number one described the opening of a theme park with tennis courts in the Bronx, which she managed together with her outfitter, as a special experience. She showed her passion for fashion at various events that she attended as part of Fashion Week in Paris. She flew to Puerto Rico for a charity event, where she had an exhibition match against national hero Monica Puig, who won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio with a final victory over Angelique Kerber.

In the final part of the clip, the Sydney 2000 Olympic champion described her goals for the coming months. From a sporting perspective, she plans to return to the US hard court tournaments in Indian Wells, California, and Miami/Florida for the new season in March.
