The adaptation and remodeling works of the Cultural Integration and Development Center were delivered, which will allow different cultural and academic programs to be offered, for the benefit of the inhabitants of commune 7 and its surroundings.
The recovery of the place was in response to one of the requests made by the same community in the “Mayor in my Neighborhood” program, in which the need to have this site again, which was under the administration of a private individual, was expressed. , at the service of the residents of this commune.
In compliance with that commitment, the space was rescued and its adaptations began at the end of 2022, which involved an investment of 30 million pesos.
Mayor Luis Giovanny Arias Tobón, who at the time was the Secretary of Administrative Services, took charge of the physical restructuring and recovery of this space, which became a cultural center managed by the Ministry of Culture.
Currently, this headquarters offers Secretariat programs such as guitar, singing, choir, vocal technique, shawm, dance classes; artistic stimulation and initiation, and benefited more than 450 people per course during the year 2023.
Additionally, in agreement with SENA, 25 apprentices are being trained in the Administrative Assistance project. The Unicaf Cultural Integration and Development Center has also become a meeting place for the community.
Meetings and gymnastics for senior groups are held there; Inder Bello services are offered such as Active People, handball and judo; and a program of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare called “Family Modality” is developed.
In addition, a space was allocated in this place for cultural, artistic and educational activities of the community.
This center is located on diagonal 65 #46C-120, in what was previously known as Unicaf Niquía.
