A bang for the Rostock Seawolves. The twelfth place in the EasyCredit Basketball Bundesliga has surprisingly fired playmaker Mike Smith (26).
“We mutually agreed not to disclose the reasons for the exemption,” says the club’s press release. According to the “Ostsee-Zeitung” there were problems with the American within the team.
The fact is: Smith was only on the floor in six games for Rostock this season: twice in the BBL (19.5 points and 3.5 per game), once for the cup and three times in the FIBA Europe Cup (in Average 9.3 points and 3 assists).

But with convincing performances he has now fought for a contract until the end of the season. Coach Christian Held (35): “Yasin came to us in a difficult phase of the season. He immediately put himself at the service of the team and contributed fully to the team. We are very grateful to him for that. We saw in the games that he can always give us a different dimension. In this respect, it was a logical consequence for us to extend with him.”
