Last Sunday, French judokas brilliantly won the European Mixed Team Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, achieving a remarkable feat. In the final, the French team defeated the formidable Georgia team with a score of 4-0, demonstrating their supremacy on the tatami and thus clinching their second title in this competition since its move to the mixed format in 2018.
An Impeccable Journey
The Blues started the day by beating Austria with a clear score of 4-0, then faced Germany in the semi-finals in a tense match. Despite a difficult start where they were trailing 1 to 2, the French judokas were able to turn the situation around to finally win 4 to 2, thanks to impressive performances from Margaux Pinot (-70 kg), Alexis Mathieu (-90 kg) and Léa Fontaine (+78 kg).

Opposed to the Georgian team in the final, the Blues showed their determination from the start of the match. Faïza Mokdar (-57 kg) launched the team brilliantly by winning her fight, followed by the successive victories of Margaux Pinot (-70 kg), Joan-Benjamin Gaba (-73 kg) and Alexis Mathieu (-90 kg) . This remarkable collective performance allowed the French team to dominate the final from start to finish and win the gold medal with a perfect score of 4 to 0.
