Río de la Plata Series 2024: Schedule and Teams for Summer Tournament

2024 starts and the teams begin preparing for the start of the season. To reach the League Cup in the best way, nine Argentine teams will compete in the Río de la Plata 2024 Series, with another 12 teams from Uruguay, Chile, Peru and Brazil.

The summer friendly tournament will be held in Montevideo and will take place between January 10 and 23. This year’s modality will be different from previous editions, since all clubs will play a total of two or three games and the winner of each match will receive a symbolic cup. The venues designated to receive the Río de la Plata Series will be the Centenario Stadium, the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, the Gran Parque Central and the Luis Franzini Stadium.

The Professional League clubs that will participate will be: San Lorenzo, Huracán, Vélez, Newell’s, Rosario Central, Belgrano, Unión, Atlético Tucumán and Gimnasia. With the confirmation of the fixture it was stipulated that the two possible Argentine classics will not take place, instead, Nacional and Peñarol will meet twice, the last one at the close of the tournament.
