Rafa Nadal Announces Return to Tennis Court with Brisbane Open

Anyone who thought they would see Rafa Nadal’s racket hanging up was disappointed. And now the curiosity is growing to return to seeing the former Spaniard world number one play on a tennis court. After a stop of a year, the Majorcan has announced the great return that many have been waiting for for a long time. There is great anticipation in seeing the physical and technical conditions of the tennis player, who will return to fighting on the court, with his left-handed cross-court forehand.

It was Nadal himself who informed the whole world, on social media, of his return to the field. “After a year the time has come to play again. See you in Brisbane,” he said in a video posted on his Twitter profile.

The Spanish tennis player, 37, has not played an official match since losing on January 18 in the second round of the Australian Open against Mackenzie McDonald, injuring his left iliopsoas. Since then an ordeal of injuries and relapses, until the surgical operation last June to solve the problem of the abdominal area. Brisbane will be the litmus test before the big commitment at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the 2024 season, scheduled from 14 to 28 January.
