Enzaki Kogyo Presents SALT ROAD MATCH

W League’s Queen Bees will meet again for the first time in three weeks with the Empress’s Cup in between, and their opponent will be Chanson Cosmetics, which they faced in the second round of the 90th Empress’s Cup on November 27th and lost 59-89. In this game, we played a close game until the middle of the third quarter, which gave us the ability to compete, and we allowed the center fielders to score a lot of points. They struggled with rebounding and gave Chanson Cosmetics a lot of second chances. It was a game that left some positive signs and challenges for the future, such as foul trouble that greatly affected the score.

Captain Nanami Hamanishi looks ahead to the match starting tomorrow, saying, “We’ve spent the last three weeks cultivating the physical stamina to keep doing what we have to do.What we need to do now is keep doing what we have to do no matter what.” We all need to maintain mental stamina.”

The match against neighboring prefecture Chanson Cosmetics, which is connected by Salt Road, will be held at home following last season.
Please come to the venue and watch the passionate battle to blow away the coldest weather this winter.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the games will be toss-up at 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are also available on the day at the venue.

Head coach/captain statement

Sachiko Ishikawa Head Coach

Over the past three weeks, we have been training hard on defense and offense to prepare ourselves for 40 minutes of intense play.

In our match against Chanson Cosmetics in the Empress’s Cup, we allowed over 10 points to each of our guards, shooters, and center. In particular, we lost 27 points to center fielder Uche, but we need to correct that and hold back firmly. Another thing is that rebounding is essential to suppressing the opponent’s points. I want to dominate with defensive rebounds and not give Chanson a second chance.

On the offensive side, we want to overcome our lack of points. The number of two-point and three-point shots is 10 fewer than the target, but the shooting percentage is not that bad. They want to increase their chances of scoring by moving the ball skillfully, calmly waiting for an opportunity, and using fast attacks, while actively taking shots.

Captain Nanami Hamanishi

In terms of defense, we have focused on the small accumulations that the team as a whole can achieve, rather than individual abilities such as continuous pressure. We focused on what we can do and worked hard to express it in the game right away.

Everyone is aware that scoring ability is an issue on offense. I have been practicing by reviewing my matching movements and focusing on how well I can shoot against my opponent.

In the recent semi-final of the Empress’s Cup, ENEOS showed fierce defense against Uche. Seeing how they played, I felt, “With the top teams fighting so hard, we have to show more than that in order to win.” Based on this, he believes that the key to tomorrow’s game will be to develop a defense that is better than ENEOS.

The opponent is a team that runs with fast transitions. First of all, I think it is important not to lose in a battle on a flat surface. I think he will struggle in any position in one-on-one situations. I want all five players to come together as one and go into tomorrow’s game with a fighting spirit from everyone, including the bench.
