Panathinaikos Basketball Team Head Coach Ergin Ataman said that he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Athens, the capital of Greece, and talked about Turkish-Greek friendship, competition in sports and the development of basketball.
Ataman met with President Erdoğan, who visited the Athens Embassy in Greece, where he came for the fifth meeting of the Turkey-Greece High Level Cooperation Council.
In his statement to the AA correspondent about the meeting, the experienced head coach said, “We chatted with Mr. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for a while. We had a very enjoyable conversation about Turkish-Greek friendship, competition in sports and the development of Turkish basketball. I was happy to meet with him.” he said.
Ataman denied the allegations on social media that he said “I came to Panathinaikos so that he could beat Fenerbahçe again” to President Erdoğan during the meeting and said, “It is a complete lie. It is a product of imagination. Such news should not be trusted. He talked about Turkish-Greek friendship and basketball with our President.” We talked.” he opined.
