Austrian football has shown two faces in 2023: at the national team level, many things went according to plan, while at the club level, internationally speaking, a mediocre twelve months are coming to an end. Team bosses Ralf Rangnick and Irene Fuhrmann in particular can look back with satisfaction as they have clearly achieved their goals with their respective senior teams and in doing so have also covered up the current misery in club football.
