Fluminense beat Palmeiras 2-0, on Monday afternoon (20/05), at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium, in a match valid for the 11th round of the Brasileirão Feminino A1. Sorriso opened the scoring with a great free kick and Lurdinha scored the second, guaranteeing the victory for Guerreiras do Fluzão.
With the result, Tricolor reached 14 points and occupies ninth place in the league table.
Fluminense started the match well, betting on counterattacks to bring danger to the opponent. In the 3rd minute, the ball raised in the area fell to Kamilla, who tried with a bicycle kick, but the ball exploded in defense. The remainder was Carla Nunes, who sent a strong shot towards the goal, demanding a save from the goalkeeper. At 7, Claudinha took a risk from outside the area to defend the opponent again.
The Guerreiras do Fluzão threatened again in the 23rd, with a free kick taken by Camila Cristina and a header from Gislaine, which went wide. At 30, Annaysa came down the right and shot a cross. At 35, Veronica took advantage of the rebound and sent it into the corner of the goal, demanding a great save from the goalkeeper.
Fluminense returns to the field on June 8th, after a break for the FIFA Data, to face Cruzeiro, in a match valid for the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game will be at 7pm, at Castor Cifuentes, in Nova Lima-MG.
