But here it is: present on screens for 30 years, Nagui knows full well that he is not eternal. And during a recent appearance at the microphone of RTL, he spoke with great transparency, moreover unexpected, of his departure from the antenna. Concerned not to last too long like some personalities, he explained:
It is obvious that there will be a departure. I won’t stay… Some actors and actresses that I admire, or singers, tour as long as their physique, their voice still holds and I find that admirable…
I understand, like Molière, even if he didn’t really die on stage, but we also see the image of Dalida saying to herself: “I will go to the end and whatever happens, my most beautiful love, it’s you, it’s the public, and I couldn’t live without it… I could very well live without television!

Very experienced in the industry, and already thanked by several channels in his career, Nagui always keeps a cool head, aware that he remains a pawn despite all his success:
I’ve been fired so many times that it’s okay. I understood how it happens. It will always hurt, always hurt, but I know it will happen, and I know it can happen to me again. That’s why there’s a sort of carpe diem when “Don’t forget the lyrics” is at the top of the audiences… Everything’s fine, but it won’t last! You must know it !
A good player, the one who has embodied the “Taratata” program for 30 years even believes that he could easily be replaced when the concept was presented. Far from clinging to his privileges, he even slipped in a few names which, according to him, would do the trick to succeed him at the head of the PAF’s benchmark musical program:
Hosts capable of doing it… Jade (from RTL, editor’s note) could do it. Bruno Guillon could do it. You have to love music, know how to host, do interviews, the rest, the strength of Taratata is absolutely not the host. It’s the director, it’s the light, the sound…
He had rarely mentioned leaving television in such a clear manner, but Nagui addresses the subject without taboo: yes, he is closer to the end of his television career than the beginning, and no, he does not intend to continue working. his profession until he is 80 or 85 years old.
