Mete Gazoz Makes History at World Archery Championships: Wins Gold and Secures Olympic Quota

The World Archery Championships held in Germany have ended.

On the last day of the organization, national archer Mete Gazoz won the gold medal by beating Canadian Eric Peters 6-4 in the men’s classic arch final.

Mete Gazoz was the champion at the Tokyo Olympics receiving Türkiye’s first Olympic medal in archery.

In the 2023 World Archery Championship, the men’s national classical bow team, consisting of Mete Gazoz, Ulaş Berkim Tümer and Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış, finished second in the world.

Türkiye has achieved a quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics, in both team and individual men’s classic arches.
