Impressive Performance by Burgos Judokas at Spanish Judo Cup: Two Medals Won

The Burgos judokas have won two medals this weekend. On the one hand, a gold and a fifth place after a great performance by the Suzaku cadet team in the Spanish Judo Cup A in Barbastro. On the other hand, a silver medal in the children’s category.

Gael Oma, in the -60 kg category, had an impeccable competition with a spectacular final against the Catalan Batraz Kokoev and after which he climbed to the box in first position and collected the gold medal.

This score places it in 3rd position in the national ranking of the Spanish Championship and in the ranking of Spanish Cups valid to qualify for the 2024 Spanish Championship.

Ángela Higuero, in the -48kg category, achieved a creditable 5th place after fighting for the bronze medal although she could not beat her rival on this occasion.

Javier Campos, in the -50kg category, this time was at the doorstep of the fight for medals, but still achieved seventh position in this Cup. He is also very well positioned in the national ranking, since he occupies fourth position at this time.

The rest of the cadet team had a very good competition.

In the children’s category, there was only one representative, Alejandro Inchausti, in the -60kg category, and with whom after going round by round with intense combat he reached the much desired final, he won the silver medal.

The results of Burgos during the Spanish Cup circuit are being remarkable again and suggest that this season there are even more possibilities of bringing Burgos the much desired national medals.
