Football: Hugo Lloris will join Los Angeles FC this Saturday

As revealed on our site this Thursday, Hugo Lloris will sign up with the American club Los Angeles FC. The signing of the former Blues goalkeeper should in all likelihood take place this Saturday.

This Friday, as expected, he terminated his contract with his now former club Tottenham. An additional step which will bring the former Lyon goalkeeper closer to the United States. He will initial his new contract this Saturday. Immediately, his club will make the news official.

The player is delighted to discover a new championship, but also a pleasant environment for his wife and children, he who also wanted to allow them to continue speaking English. This family well-being will have been decisive in the choice of his new destination.

In England, the 37-year-old French goalkeeper was no longer in the good books of Italian coach Guglielmi Vicario. A situation far from comfortable for the player who had a contract with Tottenham which ran until June 2024.

After 444 matches played with Tottenham, Lloris will continue his career in a club which has just played in the MLS final (2-1 defeat against Columbus Crew). A 12-month contract with an optional second year awaits him in California.

At LAFC, he will find former players who played in Ligue 1, such as former Stéphanois Denis Bouanga.
