FIFA Announces Nominees for The Best 2023: Messi, Mbappe, Haaland

Zurich – FIFA has announced the list of nominees for the three best players in the world for FIFA The Best 2023. The nominations are apparently still the same as the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

Lionel Messi will compete again with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Who is the best player this time?

For Haaland, he is still nominated because he brought Manchester City to the treble winners. Meanwhile, Mbappe was chosen as the best Ligue 1 player with PSG last season as well as being the top scorer.

Messi is a candidate because he managed to record the most assists in Ligue 1 with PSG last season. He is also considered to still be able to perform well at the age of 36.

The best FIFA player in 2022 was Lionel Messi. At that time, he beat Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema.

Apart from the nominations for best player, FIFA also announced the nominations for best coach.

The three coaches who are candidates are Luciano Spalleti (Napoli/Italian National Team), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Simone Inzaghi (Inter Milan).

The list of award winners will be announced on January 15 2024. National team coaches, team captains and media representatives from FIFA member countries will vote.
