Excellence Scholarships 2023 Awarded by Caja Rural de Aragón Foundation to Young Athletes

He Board of Trustees of the Caja Rural de Aragón Foundation celebrated this Thursday the delivery of the Excellence Scholarships 2023with which the banking entity rewards and recognizes the excellent benefits in the student and sports field to twenty young people coming mostly from Aragonbut also La Rioja and Lleida.

With this initiative, Caja Rural de Aragón encourages those selected to continue combining his sports career with his studies without leaving this important facet behind.

In this present call, the sixth granted by the foundation to young people between 12 and 18 years old, sixty applications have been submitted coming from a total of 22 sports federations. According to data provided by the Caja Rural de Aragón itself, a 57% of the candidates presented correspond to womenand the remaining 43% have been sent by young athletic men.

Besides, eight of the scholarship applicants have already enjoyed it in 2022and six of them will do so again in this new call for 2023.

Total, Caja Rural de Aragón has awarded 75 athletes who have been able to benefit from 900 euros that the bank offers to selected young people: 13 of them will do it for the first time after this edition and 62 have already received it in the past or repeat after having done so.

Zaragoza has been the province with the greatest representation in this call, since 14 athletes have been selected to receive the scholarship. Others four young people from the province of Huesca, a swimmer from Rioja and a paddle tennis player from Lleida They complete the list of 20 winners.

All of them practice disciplines as diverse as athletics, badminton, skating, mountain and climbing, paddle tennis, ice sports, swimming, handball and rowing, and 13 of them have already represented Spain internationally and obtained European or world titles.
