DeMar DeRozan’s Future with the Bulls: Contract Extension on the Horizon?

NBA – The 34-year-old winger, who is coming to the end of his contract next summer, reiterated his desire to continue the adventure with the Bulls.

The Bulls have been doing better for two weeks but the “trade” rumors around Zach LaVine notably, are persistent. In this context, DeMar DeRozan, who is coming to the end of his contract next summer, could represent a lever for adjustment in the event of a big proposal. Even if the sporting situation is also unstable, the 34-year-old winger confirmed that he hoped to continue the adventure at the Bulls.

“Chicago remains Chicago for me. I like this place. This is obviously where I want to be in my career. None of this has changed. I have no doubts, no feelings, no suggestions about being anywhere else. It doesn’t cross my mind.”he assured the Chicago Tribune.

DeMar DeRozan will be eligible for a four-year, $179 million extension, and the player’s camp is obviously pushing to get as close to that amount as possible.

It’s up to Chicago’s “front office” to weigh the pros and cons. GM Arturas Karnisovas has already expressed his desire to extend it, DeMar DeRozan having always held his position as leader despite numerous storms.

“When things aren’t going well, it’s always easy to start stories. You just have to know how to get through it and accept the challenge that awaits you,”

added the All-Star.

The player in any case added that the first discussions with the “front office” had been « constructive » with a view to a potential extension. Without it leading to anything concrete for the moment.
