CD Bádminton Zamora Shines at Castilla y León Circuit Test and Senior National Master’s Degree

On Saturday, December 2, the last test of the Castilla y León circuit for the U13 category was held in the Palencia town of Villamuriel de Cerrato. Demetrio Pinto was the only representative of CD Bádminton Zamora, who came with the aim of preparing for the Spanish U13 championship that will be held in Oviedo in 15 days.

Great competition for the Zamorano, achieving a perfect competition, winning two golds in the two modalities in which he participated.

In men’s singles he won all his group stage matches with solvency. Already in the final draw he surpassed his opponents until he achieved victory in the final, thus achieving the first gold of the day.

In men’s doubles, together with his CB Burguillos teammate, Pablo Cirujano, he once again managed to beat all his rival pairs without giving up a single set, climbing back to the first place on the podium, obtaining the second gold medal.

At the same time, the last senior national master’s degree of the season was held in Toledo. Raúl López and Aitor Llandres participated in this competition with the aim of continuing the good streak after the silver medal won in the Spanish Senior Championship in October.

They started the competition in the worst possible way, losing the first match in the doubles category. Having no more margin, they played their way to the final phase on a card, in a match that they began losing 11-6. Despite this, they recovered by winning, finally achieving a place in the final phase. They had the most complicated path due to the defeat in the first match, but finding their best version, they defeated the number 1 couple in the national ranking in the semifinals, losing the final match with a tight score, achieving a creditable silver medal.

In men’s singles, both were winning their matches, passing the group stage without giving up a single set. In the final phase they advanced from round to round, each one on one side of the draw, both reaching the final. Already in the fight for gold, Aitor Llandres defeated his teammate Raúl López in an even 3-set match, giving Zamora a silver medal and one more gold medal.

Great end to the season for CD Bádminton Zamora, a club that is beginning to rule in lower categories at the regional level, and is also beginning to stand out at the national level. Next date: Spanish U13 championship (Oviedo).
