Prominent new addition to the “Baller League” of soccer world champions Mats Hummels (34) and Lukas Podolski (38): women’s soccer mega-star Alisha Lehmann (24) is taking part in the new indoor league!
The new Budenzauber project starts in Germany at the beginning of January. With the Swiss international from Aston Villa.

Alisha Lehmann exclusively to BILD: “I’m really looking forward to the Baller League. This is a great idea that combines a lot of things from today: pure football, entertainment and then making the whole thing accessible to fans via social media – for a generation that sees itself in all of these points. I think the Baller League is very attractive and a real happening.”
The Swiss continued: “I grew up with street football and always watched indoor football. During the winter break it was a real experience that I was looking forward to. The idea of offering this football a stage and bringing it back to the football field with honest rules and lots and lots of fun – I wanted to be part of that. That’s also my style, my understanding of football and my DNA.”

The teams consist of celebrities, ex-footballers, musicians, streamers, influencers, stars from the entertainment industry – and players like you and me! Anyone can apply! See you December 15th! Anyone (whether amateur or semi-professional) can compete in qualifying tournaments. The team captains of the twelve teams can then select their desired players using a draft system.

The first match day is scheduled to take place at the beginning of January in a hall at “Motorworld Cologne”. Eleven match days (six games per match day) should take place by the end of March at the latest. Then there is a Final Four with two semifinals and a final. The games are regularly played in a hall in Cologne in front of spectators. Everything will be broadcast free of charge on Twitch, YouTube and on TV (channels still open).
What is the Baller League?
A small-field indoor soccer project. Twelve teams are at the start. The game is played six against six. Playing time: twice twenty minutes. Special rules are intended to make the game more dynamic and faster. Baller is US slang for ball athlete or street athlete.
Hummels (league president) and Poldi (football president) are the figureheads of the new league. Thomas de Buhr and Felix Starck are co-founders of the project.
