The Italian badminton masters championships took place on Saturday and Sunday 27 – 28 April at the PalaBadminton in Milan, where the star of Faizan Aslam, athlete and coach of the Alba team Alba Shuttle, shone.
The 35-year-old computer scientist became Italian champion in the MS35 category by beating the South Tyrolean Pietro Schlosser in the final, and not satisfied, he repeated his success in the doubles, MD35 category paired with Andreas Frener. Great satisfaction therefore for Alba Shuttle, a team that also saw Gianluca Capetta and Andrea Armellino on the podium, who won the bronze medal in the MD50 category.
The Langhe team also participated in the Milanese championships with Antonio De Pasquale, Ezio Bossati and Antonella Favaro, who reached the quarter-finals in their respective categories.
“I am very satisfied with this first Italian title of mine” said Faizan “now the Challenger tournament in Novi Ligure awaits us in mid-May and in June a very important tournament in Genoa, where I hope to be able to do well. I thank the Alba Shuttle company and all my adventure companions in this little-known but very demanding and spectacular sport.”
