The ‘2023 National Multicultural Family Badminton Competition’, which strengthens bonds between multicultural families and provides a place for communication through sports, will be held at Goyang Gymnasium in Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province, at 12 noon on the 16th.

In this competition, which is co-hosted by the national news agency Yonhap News and Goyang Special City Sports Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Goyang Special City, Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency, and Yonhap News TV, more than 500 multicultural families from all over the country will participate and show off the skills they have honed over the years. .

Prior to the main game, an exhibition match by the Yonex badminton team and a warm-up exercise with cheerleaders will be held.

It is divided into adult men’s and women’s doubles, middle and high school mixed doubles, and elementary school mixed doubles, and is held on the same day from the preliminary round to the final.

The winner of the adult division will receive a prize of 800,000 won, and the winner of the middle and high school division will receive a prize of 400,000 won.

T-shirts and rackets will be provided to players participating in the competition, and souvenirs and snacks will be provided to all participants, including their families.

You can also enjoy various side events such as ‘Life Four Cuts’ where you can take sticker photos, nail art, and origami.

This competition, which started in 2010 with the purpose of helping multicultural families maintain a healthy mind and body and establish themselves as members of our society, celebrates its 14th anniversary this year.

In particular, it has continued without interruption for the past three years despite the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Considering that it was an event with a large number of people, the organizers made every effort to ensure safety, including deploying disaster safety managers at the site.
