Women’s football, the best Italians of the sixth day of Serie A: Sciabica decisive at 17, Giugliano and Picchi well

The sixth day of the 2023-2024 Serie A women’s football season ended yesterday. Over the past weekend, five games were played and they arrived the victories of Rome (in the big match against Juventus), Fiorentina, Como, Sampdoria and Sassuolo. Obviously there was no lack of entertainment and as always we saw many Italian girls at work. So let’s discover the best three Italians (not in order) of this fifth day.

Manuela Sciabica (Sassuolo): at just 17 years old the Italian midfielder was fundamental in the Neroverdi’s success against Napoli. Immediately after taking over from the bench, the class of 2006 scored the 1-0 in the 70th minute with a beautiful left-footed shot under the crossbar which effectively decided the match.

Manuela Giugliano (Rome): with his header in the 27th minute he gave his teammates the temporary 1-0 in the big match against Juventus (later won 3-1). Before this weekend the midfielder born in 1997 had not yet scored this season in Serie A: it certainly cannot be said that he chose the wrong moment to find the first goal…

Miriam Picchi (Como): the native of Alatri was very important in her team’s incredible victory against Inter. The Como midfielder in fact scored the 1-0 goal with a magnificent lob from outside the area, before goals from Bonfantini (on a penalty for Inter) and Sevenius which brought the score to the final 2-1.
