Wim Kieft Believes Dutch National Team Players Make Jokes About Wout Weghorst’s Behavior

Wim Kieft thinks that the players of the Dutch national team make a lot of jokes about . Although Weghorst is regularly important for the Dutch national team with his goals, his behavior on the field differs from that of most football players.

“He experiences it all very intensely, including the national anthem,” Kieft notes at Veronica Offside. Table guest Dick Advocaat has few problems with it. “I also think he should stay that way.” Kieft responds: “But he doesn’t behave any differently. You can bet that such a player will be bullied all day long in such a group of players. ‘Wout, don’t you think you’re being a bit exaggerated?’ But he just keeps doing it. He doesn’t give a shit about it. I think that’s just how he is.”

The other table guests question the claim that Weghorst is being bullied by his teammates. Kieft sticks to his words. “Yes, of course he is being trolled. Everyone will.” Presenter Wilfred Genee answers: “By whom? I don’t see Schouten or Gakpo saying: ‘Wout, act normal for once.’ Nor does Marten de Roon.”

Kieft is enthusiastic about Weghorst’s performance against Ireland on Saturday. The TSG Hoffenheim striker scored the only goal of the match. “Wout shouldn’t believe in it too much, haha. It was a good goal. He hits it really well.”
