The Polish Iga Swiatek beat the American Jessica Pegula and won the WTA Finals, returning to number one in the world rankings.


Swiatek dominated Pegula from start to finish, claiming a 6-1 6-0 victory in 59 minutes. Winning the tournament ensures the Polish champion will finish the season as world number one for the second consecutive year. Swiatek had beaten defending world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals on Sunday.
