The personal information of thousands of members of the National Sports Center training program managed by Hanam City Corporation has been leaked due to employee negligence.
Previously, the corporation had brought about members’ dissatisfaction (Gyeonggi Ilbo, Internet, dated 24th) by closing the pool for the second time this year due to defects in the swimming pool facilities.
According to the Hanam City Corporation on the 27th, the corporation apologized for the leak of member personal information by posting an emergency notice on the Internet website of the Hanam Sports Complex and National Sports Center.
As a result of our internal investigation, a file containing the personal information of 6,658 members registered for the December program was incorrectly attached due to the carelessness of the staff member in the process of announcing the class program change on the website at around 6 PM on the 23rd.
The center’s training program was found to cover eight sports, including swimming, fitness, aquarobics, aerobics, and badminton.
The file containing the personal information of these members was posted on the homepage for about an hour, and during that time, it was confirmed that 32 people whose personal information was not confirmed downloaded the file in question.
Due to the carelessness of the staff in charge, four items of personal information, including name, gender, date of birth, and mobile phone number, of approximately 7,000 members were leaked.
A construction official said, “This incident occurred when the sheet was incorrectly raised while the staff was posting the list of registered members.” He added, “We are notifying members whose personal information has been leaked by sending a text message and setting up a response team to take follow-up measures. “We will improve the management system to prevent similar cases from occurring in the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, the construction company is causing trouble, with members dissatisfied with the closure of the 50-meter swimming pool at the National Sports Center, which opened less than two years ago, as part of the ceiling material was detached and the facility was closed for repair work.
In particular, the closure of the swimming pool (facility issues, etc.) is the second time this year that overall poor management and operation have been raised.
