The first phase, not always easy to follow, of this first mid-season NBA Tournament called In Season Tournament ended with the games on November 28th. Now we know the quarterfinal pairings, as well as the calendar. The four undefeated teams (Lakers, Kings, Bucks, Pacers) will play at home on December 4th and 5th. Then, the semi-finals and final will be played on December 7 and 9 in Las Vegas.

The Pelicans finished first in the group thanks to their record (3-1). Houston could have snatched first place, but missed the opportunity by losing last night to Dallas. Tied with the Magic and Nets (3-1), the Celtics confirmed their place by crushing the Bulls and overcoming their opponents thanks to the “average points”: +27 against +22 for Orlando and +20 for Brooklyn.
The Knicks and the Suns achieved the two best “second places”, New York had the better of the Cavaliers in “average points”: +42 for New York against +29 for Cleveland. Same thing for Phoenix against the Wolves, with +34 to 0, who are eliminated.
All players still competing in the tournament will receive a bonus, while the quarterfinal losers will receive $50,000 each. The losers of the semifinal will receive $100,000. The losers of the final will take home $200,000 while the winners will each get a check for $500,000.
