I Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome carried out a series of drug checks in the suburbs of the capitalwhich led to the arrest, in agreement with the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, of 21 people and the seizure of thousands of doses of narcotic substances – including cocaine, crack, marijuana and hashish.
TWO MEN AND A WOMAN ARRESTED IN SAN BASILIO
In the populous neighborhood of San Basilio, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Roma Montesacro and the local station arrested 3 men and a woman. Two men, aged 25 and 29, one of Calabrian origins and one from San Cesareo, were arrested after being stopped in a rental car and found in possession of 123.9 g of cocaine, already divided into doses . It cannot be ruled out that the two had bought the doses from a retailer in San Basilio to resell them in the municipality of Prenesto.
In Viale Kant, the Carabinieri arrested a woman in a car, found in possession of 8.3 g of cocaine, divided into 11 wrappers. In via Corinaldo, a 25-year-old was arrested who, at the sight of the Carabinieri, was running away, trying to get rid of an envelope, later recovered by the military, containing 10 wraps of cocaine.
QUARTICCIOLO – DRUG HIDDEN IN THE FLOWERBED AND IN THE DESCENDANTS OF THE GUTTERS OF THE BUILDINGS
Three men and a woman were also arrested by the Carabinieri of Rome’s Tor Tre Teste station in the Quarticciolo urban area. A 20-year-old and a 45-year-old Roman man and a 42-year-old Moroccan citizen were caught carrying out separate drug sales to 3 subjects, taking the narcotic from a hiding place near a flowerbed. During the inspection of the hiding place, the military recovered a total of 68 doses of cocaine and crack.
In via Manfredonia the Carabinieri then arrested a 20-year-old Tunisian citizen, noticed while he was giving away doses of narcotics taken from inside a descendant of the gutter of a building; following an inspection of the place of concealment and a personal search, the Carabinieri found 36 doses of cocaine and crack in the suspect’s possession.
TOGLIATTI – DRUGS IN THE CAR
A 42-year-old Roman, stopped for a check by the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia di Roma Casilina in Piazzale Pino Pascali, on Via Palmiro Togliatti, was arrested in execution of an order for the execution of a prison sentence of 1 year and 8 months, under house arrest for drug-related crimes. The man was stopped while he was driving his car and, having a dose of crack with him, he was also reported as a user to the local Prefecture.
Another 11 men and a woman were arrested on serious suspicion of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs in various places in the capital: in Largo Fratelli Lumiere by the Carabinieri of the Rome Nuovo Salario station; in via Giolitti by the Carabinieri of the Rome-Scalo Termini unit; in via del Moro by the Carabinieri of the Rome Trastevere station; inside the Pratone park of Torre Spaccata by the Carabinieri of the Roma Quadraro station; in via della Tenuta di Torrenova by the Carabinieri of the Tor Vergata station; in the Massimina area by the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia Roma San Pietro; in the San Paolo area by the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Roma Eur Company; in the Garbatella district by the Carabinieri of the local station; in via Trompeo by the Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Bella Monaca station and in the Esquilino district by the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Roma Piazza Dante Company.
All arrests were validated.
It should be noted that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase, so the suspects are to be considered innocent until a final sentence is reached.
