Laurent Prud’homme to Lead OL as CEO

After months of research, John Textor has found the person who will lead OL on a daily basis. The boss of Eagle Football has in fact been talking for several weeks with Laurent Prud’homme, whom he convinced to take the position.

The latter is not coming to succeed Jean-Michel Aulas, dismissed from office in May and whom Textor replaced as president. But he will occupy a position of “CEO” (for Chief Executive Officer), that is to say that he will take charge of the prerogatives of Thierry Sauvage, general director on departure, and of Santiago Cucci, interim CEO since the month of July. He will also take care of relations with the authorities and will represent the club on a daily basis.

A link with Lyon

The 49-year-old manager resigned this week from Groupe L’Équipe, of which he had been general manager for almost three years. The Amaury group officially announced its departure this Friday morning. He had previously been CEO of Discovery, after having held positions of responsibility, notably in the acquisition of television rights, at Eurosport and TF1.

Prud’homme was chosen by Textor because of his knowledge of the main players in French sport, starting with the leaders of the FFF and the LFP. He also has a history with Lyon, the city where part of his family is from and where he completed his studies.

He should take over from Santiago Cucci within a few weeks.
