What makes a good dancer? A conversation with three professionals about getting on the dance floor, the effect of dance on the body and mind and the influence of the TV show “Let’s Dance”.

Natascha Karabey ended her career a year ago at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall after 31 years of dancing. The now forty-three-year-old has become, alongside her partner Domen Krapez, European champion, freestyle world champion, show dance world champion and the first German ever to become world champion in standard dances. The couple also won the British Open, the “Wimbledon” of dancers.

Natascha Karabey began her dance career alongside her brother Sascha Karabey. The siblings became German amateur champions eight times in a row. In 2007, the Bad Homburgers switched to professionals – and won the German standard dance championship seven times in a row. In total, Natascha Karabey has won 25 German championship titles.
