Formula 1: the Las Vegas Grand Prix in staggered times this weekend

Las Vegas is back! After more than 40 years of absence, the Sin City once again hosts a Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend. And for the occasion, the “city of sins” did not do it by half measures with a new circuit in the city, between the casinos… And at night.

If the images should be spectacular, this nighttime GP will also and above all satisfy broadcasting throughout the world at accessible times. An additional feature is that the race weekend in Las Vegas will take place from Thursday to Saturday in the United States, but from Friday to Sunday in Europe, due to the time difference.

The GP Sunday morning at 7 a.m. in France

In detail, the drivers will set off for the first free practice this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. local time (5:30 a.m. Friday, French time), before a second session scheduled from midnight (9 a.m. French time). The next day, same program with free practice 3 at 8:30 p.m. local time (5:30 a.m. Saturday, French time), and qualifying to follow from midnight (9 a.m. French time).

The big race will take place this Saturday at 10 p.m. local time, in the middle of the city on this circuit of just over 6 km, with very long straights. For French fans, you will have to get up early to follow the start on Sunday morning from 7 a.m. The entire weekend can be followed on the channels of the Canal+ group.

But apart from F1 fans in front of their television, these times will also disrupt the drivers in the paddock with fairly low temperatures expected overnight. The mercury should drop to around ten degrees in the air, and perhaps below 5°C on the ground, which promises one of the coldest Grand Prix in F1 history. Enough to complicate tire management, and promise a very open race!
