Elan Chalon Snatches Victory from Limoges in High-Stakes Match

With a high-class Demonte Harper, Elan Chalon took over Limoges. His nerves did not break in the money time for a victory, by 2 small points, oh so precious.

We had written it. During the last five meetings, the Limoges team, which had lost twice, had not lost by less than 3 points. She confirmed her ability to hang on until the end and she made the supporters of the Coliseum tremble. Much more so than Savo Vucevic who, despite the pressure, was in complete control in the last three minutes.
Limoges, which had been up to 16 points behind, never gave up. In the wake of Nicolas Lang who gave them some fresh air, but also their leader Appleby who put the Burgundian defense to death, with 27 points at 50%, including 4/7 at 3 points, but also 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Limoges remained in ambush until the end. But the Chalonnais kept their nerve. They just made the right mistakes and on their last possession, Limoges could not find the net.

The supporters of Elan Passion, majestic in their support until the end, including scolding the referees for three or four contentious decisions against Elan, heaved a big sigh of relief. And satisfaction, because this victory, Elan Chalon really deserved it.
Yes they deserved it. In a very physical match, with numerous offensive errors symbolizing the ardor of the two teams, fierce duels under the circle, elbow strikes, including one too visible from Chassang on Cortel, they found skill, in finishing at 45% against 40% for Limougauds. With above all 43% at three points, including 2/3 for Dirk Williams when his team was hot. And if Limoges largely won on the rebound 47 against 33, the Chalonnais fought with their weapons.
They knew how to be impactful like Lionel Gaudoux who knew how to show the way by challenging the CSP defense, with 4/6 in the racket and fighting like a lion on the rebound (4 offensive). Gaudoux who quickly increased the opposing foul count in the last quarter. He then showed that it was necessary to infiltrate to undermine the opposing defense, rather than abusing 3-point shots.
The big guy on the Chalonnais side was Demonte Harper, too quickly punished with four fouls. The American, for his second match under their Chalonnaise colors, scored 24 points at 64% success with 5/6 at 3 points, for the best evaluation of the match at 25.
We also liked the sobriety of Dirk Williams who did not overdo his shots and who scored 13 points at 80% success. Finally, Mikessel, with 9 rebounds, brought what Savo Vucevic expected. Vucevic who left Markusson on the bench because he wanted more mobility against a Limoges team that plays fast.
In a week, on December 2, Elan Chalon will challenge Nanterre.
