The first block of group A, in the third round of the regular season which starts tonight at 8pm (Saturday at 3pm and again at 8pm), faces the group of three chasers made up of Hotsand Macerata, Big Mat Grosseto and BBC Grosseto. While Ducali and Felsinei will be able to benefit from the field factor, the titans will instead be busy away in Maremma.
HERE PARMA – Marcello Saccardi’s team, table top with 5 wins in 6 games, will travel to Macerata, fourth in the table with the three successes obtained on the Big Mat Grosseto diamond after suffering three setbacks in their debut against San Marino, to play the triptych of matches relating to the third day of the regular season in group A. Particularly interesting duels await on the pitching mound. Tomorrow evening Erly Casanova (2-0, 0.69 average PGL) will face the Dominican Manny Correa, fresh from the 1-0 success against Bsc Grosseto. Last year Correa, former triple-A of the California Angels and the Oakland A’s, proved to be one of the most effective pitchers in the Italian league, closing the season with a record of seven wins, only one defeat and a ERA of 1.05. On Saturday afternoon Matteo Bocchi (1-1 record, 2.31 average PGL) will challenge the excellent Gabriele Quattrini (1 won to 1 lost with an average PGL of 2.25) in a blue-tinged duel, fresh from the shutout in Grosseto last week. The third match will instead see the Cuban Figueredo (2-0, 1.64) and the young Venezuelan (born in 1999) Williander Moreno (1-0, 0.69), a pitcher who has reached the advanced single A level of the Detroit Tigers. If necessary, the ducals will be able to count on the reliefs of Perez, Scotti and Santana while in the Marche bullpen there will be the expert Renè Mazzocchi (ex San Marino) and the emerging Joseph Cuomo (ex Bologna) and Ion Doba, victorious last year against Parma Clima when he played in Grosseto. Macerata will be able to count on an attack strengthened by the arrival of the Dutch international Bernadina and the former Godo Servidei who last week were added to the former Manuel Joseph and the important clubs of Carrera (disqualified tomorrow evening), Garcia and Leonora. Parma Clima will respond with seven hitters averaging .300 or higher. Palfinger Reggio Emilia, the solitary leader of group E, flies to Sardinia where the doubleheader with Catalana Alghero is scheduled which is worth the top of the group, while the second in the standings Codogno will be guests of Senago.
