Discover the Outdoor Adventure Paradise of the Valencian Community

The Valencian Community is an ideal setting to enjoy the natural environment, since the richness and variety of landscapes invite all lovers of nature and active life to live days full of adventure and fun.

In recent years, the Valencian Community has become one of the main destinations in Spain for the practice of active tourism. With more than 2,500 hours of sunshine a year and an average temperature of between 12º and 20º in winter and between 24º and 35º in summer, the Valencian territory is a unique setting to enjoy fun days of hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, birding or kayak, among many other possibilities.

It should be noted that the Valencian Community has a total of 22 natural parks, spread across coastal and inland mountain ranges, islands, wetlands and even a Mediterranean riparian forest, the Turia Natural Park. In addition, it is one of the most mountainous areas in Europe. Not in vain, even without exceeding two thousand meters of altitude, the region has spectacular orography. All this, together with the marked Mediterranean climate, accentuated by the north-south orientation of the territory, provides its surroundings with numerous habitats with great biodiversity, which ends up giving these spaces an astonishing and incredible charm.

To all this we must add the enormous play offered by dozens of villages perched on top of hills, countless kilometers of blue water beaches, historic medieval castles, prehistoric caves full of cave paintings, royal ravines, ancient bridle paths, 13 Vias Greens and an immense amount of hiking possibilities.

The most daring can opt for canyoning, bungee jumping or climbing. There is also a varied offer that includes activities such as canoeing, paddle surfing, rafting or multi-adventure sports to enjoy with the family. If we prefer to discover the landscape more calmly, it is possible to practice trekking, hiking and Nordic walking.

And the Valencian Community has more than 5000 km of trails between mountain ranges and valleys. Paths that look out over the sea from cliffs or that go into mountainous landscapes, long-distance trails that allow you to make journeys of more than one day or short-distance trails.

And up to 13 greenways that total more than 200 km of charming old railway routes that are today a delight for cycling or hiking.

Touring the Valencian Community by bicycle is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant ways to enjoy its landscapes and get to know its historical and natural heritage.

Those who opt for climbing will undoubtedly find a paradise in Puig Campana, Penyagolosa and Cerro Calderón, or in the more than 20 via ferratas in perfect condition distributed throughout the territory. The numerous south-facing walls are ideal during the coldest months of the year.

At your disposal you will find well-equipped sports trail schools focused on a wide variety of grades: from affordable trails to the possibility of experiencing the high mountain environment on trails of eminent alpine character.

For those who prefer to get wet, there are numerous navigable rivers, canyons, ravines and reservoirs that crisscross the area and where you can practice stand-up paddleboarding or rafting.

In municipalities such as Sot de Chera, Alborache, Cofrentes, Onil, Ibi, Benitandús, Morella, Montanejos, San Miguel de Salinas, Sant Joan de Moró or Venta del Moro there are adventure parks that combine hanging bridges, zip lines, handrails or Tibetan bridges where enjoy a day of adventure and fun for the whole family.

There are numerous companies specialized in active tourism that guide visitors to carry out the activity safely and that offer a very extensive list of experiences for all tastes, from the most calm and relaxed to others that are much more intense, but always suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions: multi-adventure circuits, trekking, SUP (stand up paddle) in rivers and reservoirs, slow cycling, archery, horseback riding, caving, paintball… the variety of options is infinite and you can consult them all at
