BVB showed a positive reaction to the embarrassing performance in Stuttgart in the 4-2 win over Gladbach. That gives us courage for the very important Champions League game at AC Milan.

Sebastian Kehl reacted with great relief to Borussia Dortmund’s hard-fought 4-2 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. “The victory was important to calm things down. They weren’t easy days,” said BVB’s sports director, referring to the harsh criticism of the team after the weak performance in Stuttgart two weeks earlier. At 1:2, BVB was still hopelessly inferior and could have lost significantly more.

Now Edin Terzic’s team showed great morale against Gladbach. Kehl pointed out that BVB turned the game around thanks to goals from Marcel Sabitzer (30th minute), Niclas Füllkrug (32nd), Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (45th) and Donyell Malen (90th + 7): “We have once again shown comeback qualities. It doesn’t always have to be like this, we don’t need it every time. It’s a feature of the team this season.”

Milan and Leverkusen – week of truth for BVB

The coach viewed the appearance as a source of encouragement for the two upcoming difficult games at AC Milan (Tuesday, 9 p.m. in the WELT live ticker) and in Leverkusen (Sunday): “It was extremely important that we went into the next block with a win start.”

But we have to wait and see how it develops.”
