Brilliant Doku, The Citizens Goal Party 6-1

Manchester City gained three points after a convincing win over Bournemouth with a score of 6-1. Jeremy Doku appeared impressive in Man City’s victory.

The Man City vs Bournemouth duel was held at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday (4/11/2023) evening WIB. Doku contributed one goal and created four other goals scored by Bernardo Silva (2), Manuel Akanji, substitute Phil Foden. Another Man City goal was scored by Nathan Ake.

Bournemouth are facing pressure from the Citizens throughout most of the game. The Cherries scored a consolation goal from Luis Fernando Sinisterra after 70 minutes of the match.

Thanks to this victory, Man City topped the Premier League standings. Man City collected 27 points from 11 matches, one point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (2) and Arsenal (3) who will only play later. Meanwhile, Bournemouth is in 17th position with six points, just one point from Luton Town in the relegation zone.

The Course of the Match

Man City immediately took the initiative to attack after kickoff. However, only after 20 minutes the chance of danger appeared. Erling Haaland’s header following Julian Alvarez’s pass hit Bournemouth’s goalpost.

Man City’s deadlock is broken. In the 30th minute, Jeremy Doku scored a goal to make the score 1-0.

From the left side of the penalty box, Doku collaborated with Rodri. Doku then finished Rodri’s pass with a curling shot that hit Chris Mepham before going into the Bournemouth goal.

Only three minutes later, Man City succeeded in increasing their lead. Bernardo Silva forced Ionu Radu to collect the ball from his own net for the second time.

It was Doku’s turn to create Man City’s second goal. The Belgian winger grabbed the ball to outwit Mepham, then sent a low cross into the middle of the penalty box. Bernardo Silva escaped control then met Doku’s pass with a left footed shot into the bottom corner of the goal. The score is now 2-0.

Man City is crazy. In the 37th minute, Man City scored the third goal to beat Bournemouth 3-0. Bernardo Silva’s low pass to Jeremy Doku was followed up with a right foot shot.

The ball rolled fast then hit Manuel Akanji’s body and turned to outwit Radu before penetrating the Bournemouth goal.

Bournemouth finally put up a fight in the last five minutes. From the counter-attack scheme, Alex Scott’s collaboration with Ryan Christie was continued by Dominic Solanke with a header. The ball just went into Ederson’s arms.

In injury time, Haaland had a chance to score a goal after receiving a mature pass from Bernardo Silva. However, Illia Zabarnyi made a brilliant block to deny it. The 3-0 score for Man City lasted until halftime.

Man City did not relax the pressure even though they were far ahead of Bournemouth. After an hour, Man City scored the fourth goal to lead 4-0 over Bournemouth.

Jeremu Doku received a low pass on the left wing before releasing a cross that found Phil Foden. From the middle of the penalty box, Fode finished with a flick of his left foot that found the top of the Bournemouth goal net.

In the midst of Man City’s attack, Bournemouth was able to steal a goal in the 74th minute. Taking advantage of the opponent’s high defensive line, Maximillian Aarons received a mature pass from behind.

Aarons then sent a cross from the right wing which met Sinisterra. The latter rounded Kyle Walker before finishing with a low shot to make it 1-4.

Man City increased their lead to 5-1 in the last eight minutes. Bernardo Silva scored his second goal in this match. Doku cleverly released a mature pass from behind which freed Bernardo Silva up front.

Bernardo dribbled the ball then fired a left footed shot from a tight angle. Zabarnyi made a sweep, but the ball had already crossed the goal line. Mattheus Nunes met the ball with a volley, but Silva got the goal.

In the 88th minute Nathan Ake completed Man City’s victory to 6-1. From the right wing, Nunes’ collaboration with Oscar Bobb ended with a cross into the 6-yard box. Ake beat Senesi’s guard then headed the ball from close range.
