Head coach Arthur Smith committed to change in starting quarterback in Atlanta only for Week 9

On Sunday, Smith said that the Falcons they didn’t take out Ridder by performance, but because they seemed “out” despite passing the tests and, with the pace they were at, they wanted to stay with Heinicke. On Monday, Smith said he was going to rely on medical experts first when making decisions regarding his starting quarterback to Minnesota. In the past three weeks, he has suffered seven turnovers, four lost fumbles and three interceptions, with four turnovers occurring in the red zone.
