With victory in second place – Sport

Second division relegated SSV Jahn Regensburg won its home game against VfB Lübeck 2-1 (2-0) in the third football league and moved to second place in the table. The Lübeck team had the better scoring opportunities in the first half, but Jahn was more efficient. Dominik Kother took the lead after a bad pass from Mirko Boland (41′). After a counterattack, Noah Ganaus was initially denied by VfB goalkeeper Philipp Klewin, but Oscar Schönfelder scored on the follow-up shot (45th + 3).

In the second half, Velasco put Lübeck back in touch after just 25 seconds. But there were hardly any goal area scenes to be seen in the episode, instead there were a lot of cards. In addition to a total of 13 yellow cards, there was a yellow-red card against Regensburg’s Louis Breunig and a red card for Lübeck’s Leon Sommer after an emergency stop against substitute Bryan Hein (79th). “It was a dirty win,” said Jahn coach Joe Enochs. “We will address this unsportsmanlike behavior. We don’t want that, that’s not who we are, and we’ll put a stop to that in the future.”
