The United Arab Emirates Introduces Professional Baseball League with Major League Talent

The Middle Eastern countries are making a strong entry into the most famous sports in the world, and one of them is the United Arab Emirates, which this Monday made its professional baseball league official, adding talent that has passed through the Major Leagues such as Robinson Canó, Pablo Sandoval, among others.

The Dominican Robinson Canó was selected in the first round of the Draft by the Dubai Wolves, while the Venezuelan Pablo Sandoval was chosen by the Abu Dhabi Falcons, but if there was one name that caught the attention it was that of the Dominican pitcher Bartolo Colón, who with 50 years was taken by the Karachis Monarchs.

But these are just some of the most notable names in this Draft, which also included other Dominicans such as Wilin Rosario, Álex Liddi, Steven Moya, Didi Gregorius from Curacao, Severino González from Panama and a large number of other players with experience in the Minor Leagues. MLB.

Baseball United is the new baseball league created in the Middle East and South Asia, with the participation of some Major League legends and Hall of Fame members such as Panamanian Mariano Rivera, American Barry Larkin and a future immortal such as the Dominican Adrián Beltré, these three are shareholders.

The first season will feature four teams and will take place during the winter of 2024 in cities in India, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
