Real Betis Baloncesto Sold to Xoy Conglomerate: New Era for the Seville Basketball Team

The sale of the Real Betis basketball section is now official. The open secret is now a reality this October 4th. As the green and white team has just announced in its official channels, Real Betis Balompié and the Xoy Conglomerate have reached an agreement by which the Mexican business corporation will acquire 99.9% of the shares of Real Betis Baloncesto SAD. Likewise, Real Betis Balompié will transfer the use of its brand to the basketball club for at least the next 10 years.

The information indicates that the Mexican corporation will be one of the regional sponsors of Real Betis Balompié, expanding the internationalization strategy of the Verdiblanco Club brand in North America. Real Betis will provide consulting services to Chihuahua FC to improve its business area, applying its successful growth model in sponsors, income, brand strength, partners and the launch of strategic projects such as Forever Green. The Heliopolitan entity has closed two regional partner agreements in Mexico with the Upick and Híjole brands to collaborate in the promotion and dissemination of its products and services. And finally, Real Betis is going to launch a new academy in Chihuahua and is going to partner with the Xoy Conglomerate to collaborate in the growth of Betis Academy in Mexico and Latin America.

With the sale to the Xoy Conglomerate, the thirteen bars entity emphasizes, the Seville basketball team will be able to continue its 36-year history with new financial resources and without negatively affecting Real Betis Balompié’s football investments.

Remember that, since its founding in May 1987, there have already been several owners of the first basketball team in the capital of Seville..

Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis, highlighted the importance of the agreement. “Our commitment to basketball continues hand in hand with the Xoy Conglomerate. We are very happy to have found a partner that helps give a boost to the Seville basketball team and that, together with the Real Betis brand, allows us to continue keeping the team in the elite. This first team in the high competition must be the lighthouse for the more than 2,000 boys and girls who play basketball in our academy and our schools,” he commented on the matter.

Carlos Lazo, CEO of the Xoy Conglomerate, I wanted to set the club’s objectives. “We have come to contribute to the greatness of this team. To give it stability and build a project that will take us to the ACB and reinforce and improve the youth team. It is better to demonstrate with actions instead of words, so here we come to build a highly competitive team, up to the demands of its followers,” said honorary doctor Carlos Lazo. “The fans must be respected and that is why we have integrated a team that we are sure will achieve success. We not only come to compete, but to be protagonists. We are very demanding of ourselves. Our expectations are very high and we will know how to respond in the face of any adversity,” stressed the new visible head of the new owners of the eternal Caja San Fernando.

Tomorrow, the Benito Villamarín press room will host the press conference that will mark the starting signal for the Aztec landing in elite basketball at the foot of the Giralda. At the moment, no details of the cost of the operation have been given (it cost Real Betis one euro to have a basketball team).
