New stop for PFV in the Serie B championship, where Bendazzi’s girls were defeated in Moncalieri by Kangaroos Sport 53-40.
The score must not, however, mislead us about the difference in values that emerged on the pitch, since the home team, structurally better equipped, scored three triples of those that are defined as “of desperation” when PFV had become below -4 in the last period.
The Vercelli team’s match was still good, as coach Bendazzi declared at the end of the match, rather satisfied with the performance of his girls, since they showed much better things on the pitch than those of last Sunday.
Optimism in the air
On the other hand, they were faced with a team that could field some players who usually play in Serie A2 and equipped with a trio of well-structured and good-value long players, to whom PFV did not have an equal role to contrast.
All in all therefore, despite the defeat, there is a certain optimism at PFV in the awareness of having been in the game for a long time. In fact, the first quarter ended 15-8 (and here everything was decided, in practice) but in the subsequent periods there was a lot of balance (14-14 in the second and a miserable 4-4 in the third), while in the final it was said.
Moncalieri defended with great intensity, blocking the offensive ends of PFV, who struggled a lot to select good shots, and here the match was, in fact, resolved. But in turn PFV was able to defend with equal intensity against a team that was going strong, and this, in the Serie B championship, is certainly a positive thing, which sooner or later will have to lead to results.
