Payton Pritchard Signs Lucrative Contract Extension with Boston Celtics

Payton Pritchard was in trade talks this summer; However, the circumstances for him at the Boston Celtics have taken a 180 degree turn, since, according to Adrian Wojnarowski’s sources, the point guard has sealed a contract extension for 4 years and 30 million dollars.

The point guard trained in Oregon and selected with the 26th pick in the 2020 Draft was in the last year of his rookie contract valued at just $4 million. With his new commitment he will be a Celtics until next 2027 if nothing goes wrong.

With the transfer of Smart and the arrival of Jrue Holiday, Pritchard aims to have a more important role than last year if coach Joe Mazzula opts for the aforementioned Holiday and Derrick White as starting point guards along with Tatum, Brown and Porzingis as center .

In 48 games during the 2022-23 campaign, he averaged 5.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just over 13 minutes per day.
