Paris Saint-Germain Fans Face Backlash for Homophobic Chants During Marseille Victory

Last weekend, Paris Saint-Germain won comfortably against Olympique de Marseille by a score of 4 goals to 0. But the Parisians’ resounding victory was quickly overshadowed by a new controversy. Indeed, several homophobic chants were sung by Ile-de-France supporters against the Marseille club at the Parc des Princes, sparking total indignation.

On the sidelines of the clash between the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais counting for the 2nd day of D1 Arkéma, the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) sent a message to denounce the incidents that occurred during the Classic. “Paris against discrimination and recovery”, can we read on the banner displayed before kick-off. As a reminder, sanctions were requested by the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, against the authors of these outrageous chants while an investigation was opened by the LFP disciplinary committee.
