NFL and G-III Apparel Group Launch Adaptive Clothing Collection for People with Disabilities

The National Football League (NFL) and G-III Apparel Group have unveiled a collection of products equipped with simplified openings and closings for people who have difficulty dressing.

Made up of t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies, the collection includes clothing featuring the 32 NFL teams. The league also claims to be the first “to offer adapted and assisted clothing to fans”. An initiative which aims to offer accessible merchandising to people with disabilities.

The collection is divided into two sections. The so-called “adaptive” method offers, for example clothing with hidden, wider openings to allow easier dressingof the magnetic closures instead of buttons to allow one-handed closing of clothing or even magnetic connectors for zippers.

In the “assisted” section, the t-shirts have the back “fully open (when not worn) with soft-touch snap closures to allow the caregiver to dress the person”.

“G-III is proud to design the first collections of adaptive and assisted clothing for NFL fans. ” explain Carl Banks, President of G-III Sports Division. “These collections make sportswear more inclusive than ever and are a natural extension of the classic sports collection we already produce for the NFL. »

« The collections will allow fans to cheer on their favorite team with confidence, comfort and independence. » added Joe Ruggiero, NFL senior vice president of consumer products.

Derivative products available online at different prices. “Assisted” t-shirts are sold for $45, it costs $65 for a hooded sweatshirt, $60 for a long-sleeved t-shirt and $45 for an “adaptive” t-shirt.
