The representation of the María Auxiliadora Sports and Cultural Association of the Salesianos School of Algeciras that participated during the week in the Cadet Spanish Super Cup (City of Vigo Trophy) – one of the most important competitions of those that count towards a place in the Spanish Championship – returned home this Sunday with a bittersweet taste: on the one hand the five athletes they enjoyed the experience to take part in an elite event but in the sports results section there is no reached the semi-finals of their respective weights and categories.
They took part in this event David Carrió and Esteban Pulido in the men’s competition of -66 kilos, while in the women’s competition the women from Algeciras also did so. Chloe Caldelas at -52 and Marta Barutell, in – 57, as well as the La Línea judoka Sonia Castillo, -48.
All athletes They surpassed the previous roundsbut they were removed from the fight for medals in the final rounds, in categories with a very large participation (up to 450 competitors from all over the country) and very high level rivals, and more experience in calls of this type.
The athletes were accompanied by the coach, Silvia Romero Pérez and the referee Dani Castillo.
