The widespread extraordinary maintenance works on the sports facilities of the baseball stadium in via Passo Buole, the Cecchi gym, the Colletta swimming pool and the Ruffini and Colletta football fields will begin between the end of 2023 and the first months of 2024. The intervention plan was approved on Tuesday 10 October by the Turin municipal council, with a resolution proposed by the Sports councilor Domenico Carretta. The overall cost will be approximately 2 million euros including VAT financed with the funds of the Integrated Urban Plan, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
As regards the baseball stadium, the changing rooms and anti-bathroom areas, bathrooms and showers will be redone, including the hydraulic systems. The internal windows and doors and the waste water network will be replaced and the fence along Via Pio VII and Via Bossoli in the stretch adjacent to the Vittorio Park will be completed.
The works at the Cecchi gym will concern the changing rooms, the anti-bathroom areas, the bathrooms and showers, including the plumbing systems. The surface layer of play and tracking will be redeveloped. The waterproofing sheath of the terrace on the corridor of the skylights and the entrance below, all the windows and external flooring will be redone. The same interventions will be carried out at the Colletta swimming pool with the addition of the complete redevelopment of the coverings and the bottom of the external pool and part of the swimming pool beach, of the components of the technological water treatment system. A new compensation tank will also be built.
The playing surface of the Ruffini football pitches will be redone and the five-a-side pitches will be covered with a 27 mm high synthetic grass carpet, while the Colletta pitches will have a new synthetic surface.
