Latvian basketball player Jānis Timma shines despite loss in Turkish championship

Today, Latvian basketball player Jānis Timma played his most productive game so far in the Turkish championship, but his represented Istanbul “Darussafaka” lost 73:89 to Bodrum “Cagdas Bodrumspor”.

Timma scored 13 points in 32 minutes and 46 seconds on the field (1 p. 1/1; 2 p. 0/1; 3 p. 4/8). Also, the Latvian won three rebounds, gave one assist, committed two errors, intercepted the ball once, and finished the game with a +/- indicator of -6 and an efficiency ratio of 11.

David McCormick scored more points than Timm’s visitors, who collected 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Ridvan Enzel also scored 13 points. Ahmets Duverioglu collected 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners, Christopher Warren scored 22 points, and Dominik Artis scored 18 points.

Meanwhile Rihards Lomaz represented “Yukatel Merkezefendi” lost to “Besiktas” of Istanbul with 58:79 (16:28, 13:18, 19:21, 10:12). In 35 minutes and seven seconds, Lomaj made two of six two-point shots and seven of nine free throws, but the only long shot missed the basket. The guard also had one rebound, three assists, two turnovers, three personal fouls, and finished the game with a +/- of -15 and an ERA of six.

Only Daniel Oturu was more productive than Lomaž with 21 points and 11 rebounds. In the Istanbul team, Matthew Mitchell scored 14 points, Berkan Durmaz and Samet Jigitoglu scored 11 points each.

It has already been reported that on Friday, Kristers Zorik scored 26 points in the victory of the Izmir “Petkimspor” team, beating the “Samsunspor” team 81:67. “Petkimspor” is the first in the tournament table with three wins in four games, “Darussafaka” is the third with two successes in four matches, but Denizli “Yukatel Merkezefendi” represented by Rihard Lomaž has lost all three matches and occupies the last place in the 16-team championship.
