After his goal on Saturday against FC Volendam, Noa Lang cheered towards a fan in the stands, who had asked for this before the match. The Dutch international made it 1-0 after twelve minutes in the Eredivisie match (3-1) in the Philips Stadium with a hard shot.

When Lang arrived at the stadium on Saturday before the match, a young fan asked if he wanted to make ‘a heart’ if he scored, according to images from ESPN. Lang scored and then actually made the gesture of a heart with his hands.

“I know her, she is at the training complex almost every day. And she is always very nice,” Lang said after the victory against Volendam. “And I didn’t forget her when I scored.” Smiling: “I hope that next time I can cheer again in my own way.”

Lang’s goal was special for more reasons. The attacker shot so hard that Volendam goalkeeper Mio Backhaus was at a loss.

“The ball went straight towards the goalkeeper, but he pulled his arms in. I don’t know why he did that. It almost looked like he wanted to head the ball. The shot was hard, yes. In such a place Do you want to just ram the ball in,” Lang responded.

‘We have to put something right’

Lang’s goal seemed to be the prelude to another goal-rich match for PSV, but in the end the result was 3-1. Lang also did not play his best game since he came over from Club Brugge last summer.

“I was a bit more tired, I have played a lot of matches in recent weeks. But we have to go full speed again on Tuesday.”

PSV will play the second match in the group stage of the Champions League at home against Sevilla on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Coach Peter Bosz’s team started with a 4-0 defeat against Arsenal. “We have to put something right,” says Lang. “We want to hibernate in the Champions League and so we have to beat Sevilla at home.”
